The LUX Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hey guys!!! I finally finished Opposition by JLA!! It is the final book in the LUX series. I gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars; it was a really fun and satisfying conclusion to the series. This series overall is just fun. Its not really a serious story; its just meant to make you laugh and to entertain you. I give the whole series a 4.5 rating! I definitely recomend this series to anyone who just wants a light, fun read. It has Its very occasional cheesiness (hens the 4.5 and not 5 stars) but, the fact that you make fun of the cheesiness the whole way through just makes the story more fun.

**Pretty much what marathoning the series felt like**

The Vampire Academy Series

Just to update you guys on what I have been reading: I have already read the first two books in the VA series and have ADORED THEM. I haven't done a review for each book because since I'm probably marathoning this series, I want to review the entire series as a whole. So far it has been amazing and I'm sure the series will get better and better with each book!! If you are kind of skeptical about this series because its about vampires, don't worry, so was I. But, I can not begin to explain how wrong I was! If you are looking for a funny but not ridiculous series to read, please no matter your age or genre prefrence PICK THIS UP!!! Obviously, I definitely recomend this series; it really surprised me! (Don't let the covers fool you) (Also, if you saw the movie, please give the book a chance. It is so much better, its not even normal.)

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis
Shades of Earth - Beth Revis

Shades of Earth: This book was really good! The first half was pretty slow but the second half saved the book. The second half was amazing and very fast-paced! The character development for Amy was exactly what I needed. She got so much better and stronger at the end and I loved that! I would have given the book a 3 stars based on the first half, but I needed to give it a 4 stars for the second half. The .5 was because the end - specifically the last 5 pages - was one of the best endings I have ever read. This book was kind of confusing at the beggining but it just got better and better! Definitely a great conclusion to the trilogy!!!

The Undertaking of Lily Chen by Danica Novgorodoff

Don't have much to say... I was kind of disappointed with this graphic novel. I gave it a 2.5 stars for content but I had to move it up to 3 because the art was beautiful. I didn't really care for the characters and I think they fell in love too soon. I also think that the story was very rushed and since none of the scenes lasted more than 2 pages it felt like I was reading a book meant for a 6 year old. The story was also too predictable. Overall I would only recomend this book if you are looking to finish your goal for the month and need and extremely fast read to do so. :(

**Beautiful cover, though.**

Reading progress update: I've read 318 out of 441 pages.
Shades of Earth - Beth Revis

Really enjoying it so far!

In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken

Conclusion to The Darkest Minds trilogy: I definitely loved this book! It was the conclusion to my favorite trilogy. Eventhough I'm really sad it ended, I loved it! I gave it a 4.5 stars, though. I didn't give it a five stars because the character that died was killed off too quickly and randomly. I still loved it only because it is the last book in The Darkest Minds trilogy and no matter what happended I would have liked it anyways. DEFINITELY recomend this trilogy!

** I read this on January... Sorry for the SUPER late review! **

Update: Cress by Marissa Meyer

Sorry for not posting this sooner but I finished Cress!

I finished it the 30th of December and loved it so much! Marissa definitely outdid herself in this book. It was obviously my favorite of the book that are currently out! If you read the first book and didn't love it, I recomend you move on to at least the third one because it seriously hit the ground running! Cress was an amazing character to add in the series and the plot is just unfolding in the most amazing way!

If you guys don't know about this series, I have a review on the first book "Cinder" which has a spoiler free section. Definitely recomend this series and can't wait for the last book "Winter". I hope you guys pick it up!

Reading Update!!

I just finished Scarlet by Marissa Meyer! Loved it and gave it a 4 stars! Currently reading Cress and I already know that it is my favorite one with only nine chapters in! Definitely recomend this series!

Review
3.5 Stars
Cinder by Marissa Meyer

NO SPOILERS:
Hello again guys! So today I'm reviewing Cinder by Marissa Meyer! So this book was pretty good; I gave it a 3.5 stars. I think I didin't give it a higher rating because, first, it was the introduction to the series and these are typically a little slow. And, I honesly dove into this book with really high expecatations.
SPOILERS:
Ok so now I'll dive into a little more detail. So overall I really liked the book. I think Marissa did a really good job in the "fairy tale retelling" aspect of this book. You see lots of things from the original story of Cinderella but it is much more different in a good way.

I thought Cinder was a kick-butt character! I loved her comebacks and how strong she remained throughout the novel despite the many, many problems she faced. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Prince Kai!! He was so funny and charming and amazing! I found it very refreshing the way Marissa made the relationship between Cinder and Peony. I think that the fact that Cinder was actually friends with one of her stepsisters gave the story a really good spin to it. I loved Iko! The fact that she was an android and ahe actually had a personality of her own was very interesting. And obviously I hated Adri and Pearl. I relly don't have much to say about them other than that.

For some weird reason I loved Queen Levana. I think that Marissa did an exceptional job in creating her. She is the perfect villan and she is smart and strong and Marissa did a very good job at making me hate her, which is what every writer wants in a villan ;) I thought the Lunars were very interesting. I hope that in the next books there is more explanation as to what the Lunars are and what they are capable of.

Resolutions- Now, I really did not expect that Peony or Iko died. Though I do think it was kind of necessary in a way.  I hated that things between Kai and Cinder never got resolved at the end!! I really wanted a reunion or some kind of talk at the end but it didin't happen :( Also it was just perfect that Cinder was really Princess Selene. I will admit that it didn't really come as a surprize. :/

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!

The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

NO SPOILERS:

This book is the fifth and final installment in "The Heroes of Olympus" series by Rick Riordan. This series is about demigods in greek mythology. If you did not know, this is a companion series to the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series which I HIGHLY recomend. I also recomend reading the PJO series before HOO!!

So guys overall this book was amazing! In star rating I gave it a 5 out of 5 stars. This book was not the best of all the Percy Jackson books though. Sadly, it didn't exactly meet my expectations. But personally I love this series so much and every book is amazing for me! I strongly suggest this series if you have not read it! So this is really all I can tell you without spoiling anything so bye if you have not read the book!

SPOILERS:
Ok, well the thing that made me dislike this book was that there was almost no Percy. Not only were there no Percy chapters but in the story overall there was not much said about him. Also, I feel like he was portrayed as a very dumb character in this book. I thought that Percy did not feel like Percy in this book which really bugged me.

On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Reyna and Nico chapters. I thought they were very necessary in the story for me to actually warm up to these characters. Also, I loved the scenes in Viejo San Juan because I am from there so it was really nice for an author to include my island in his story!

Now the ending. Here is where I spoil everything. I really was expecting more from the ending. I would have liked for Leo to go back to Camp Half-Blood so that everyone would be sure that he was alive. But I loved the fact that the story ended in a Leo chapter because out of all of the POVs in the story, Leo's is definitely my favorite. I was very satisfied with Leo and Calypso but I would have liked a "Welcome-Back" party for Leo.

- So guys that is my overall review. This is a wonderful book and this is by far my favorite series ever.
